I have tried all facets in life and in 1998 I chose to open Børnehuset Lillekilde. For me my biggest task as daily manager is to inspire and motivate my staff, so we always have creativity and development throughout the house. My staff is deliberately a cultural mixture – which I think offers both dynamic and positive inspiration and of course challenges – but it also gives you a lot of learning when it is not running according to the plan. I value the idea that there has to be room for both you and me – an optimum condition and breeding for the fact that every child can explore and develop and feel appreciated for who it is.
And as a mother also said to me: “Imagine the value for my child to meet Indian and Italian culture in a daycare center situated on a quite normal, flat suburban street in Valby”.
I am Lillekilde’s Italian peda-cook and wonderful clown! I make it a point to serve nutritious eco-food, which tastes good – only the very best for children in growing age. My kitchen I situated in the middle of everything – so while I am attending the cooking pots I can play the clown in the doorway or jump out into the yard. I only like dirty nails when we are digging for our own potatoes!
I am the secretary in Lillekilde and I am also, incidentally, a qualified zookeeper. You will often find me on the other end of the phone or e-mail. I am otherwise out helping children learn about nature or animal-care. I also ensure that Lillekilde’s small animals smile as much as our children do.
Children no doubt feel my inherent recognition of what they are, their interests and knowledge. I am good at spotting each individual child in a larger group – you can have a small voice or big gestures, for me no one is overlooked! I am learning at least as much from the children as they do from me! And then I am really good at fooling around and strengthen their linguistic development.
I have been here right from the beginning and I love working with children, big and small. I feel wonderfully comfortable in nature and I often go on a trip exploring outside – and even though you are small you can easily explore. I am good at finding practical solutions and then I have a calm mind with the attitude that everything will be all right.
I love seeing the small nursery children master small and big challenges in life – whether it is the first words, the first steps or when the paint is felt on the hands – this is where it all begins and thus where you will find me. I give priority to the good contact with parents and safe, predictable surroundings to both children and parents and then I am really good at baking!
I love to sing with the children and stimulate the child’s learning ability and language through singing, rhythmic, dancing, movement, gesticulations, story-telling and rhymes. I am really good at organizing, arranging and planning and I love to use these abilities to make room for play and creativity for the children.
I love to activate the children physically. I know quite a lot about body and movement through 10 years of professional sporting activities. It is nice to activate yourself in the tumble room where the children challenge their bodies through play and discover how much they can do with it. I am good at starting up children and I have an eye for the children thriving and getting along with each other.
Lillekildes impossible man-of-all-works. Are having a good time with changes and repairs, new things/old things, oops-solutions and more long-term solutions. I am also known as Postmand Per / Byggemand Bob.
I am a musician and in my work with children in Lillekilde, i often use music as an angle of approach in different games and activities. At Morning gatherings, the guitar is always with me and it is nice to jam together! I have several times been elected one of the world’s best climbing frames and I love to tumble.
I have been here since the beginning and I have seen Lillekilde becoming what it is today. I am Lillekilde’s sage “Mama”, who the children search for. I guide them lovingly and always from the viewpoint of the child. With children I can create EVERYTHING from what we have, art on the child’s premises – stones become diamonds and the fairy tale unfolds.
I have an education from the art school and I often soak into creative processes with the children – especially painting and drawing and what will happen, when we mix colors or use other materials. Also theme projects by means of resources from nature or recycling things. Apart from this, I love doing a good and effective potty training.
I completed my bachelor in early childhood care & education (pedagogy) less than a year ago. I see myself as a caring, tolerant and all-embracing sort of person. I am an active participant in children’s activities and play. As an educator I put great emphasis on listening and creating space for the child’s expression.
I am very caring and tolerant in my work with children. I recognize the children’s own inner rhythm and pace of development. And then I love working creatively with the children – it is a pleasure to see children develop their imagination, social competences and learn about forms and colors.
I love to sing and read with the children i my daily work, as this helps stimulating their language. Rhythmic and dance take up a lot of space in my pedagogical heart, we use ourselves and each other – and then it is a wonderful way of being together.
I have worked with children for the past 12 years and love to see the small happy and excited faces when I reach my work. Language is my focus area, so I often read books and encourage children to use spoken language to express themselves. I give a lot of hugs to children and try to meet each child at his/her level.
I am down-to-earth and affectionate person, with a large grin. I love the experiences that the nature offers, so for me its about getting the babies in the stroller and off on a trip. I use my energy to create a good day and structure, where the little ones can grow and begin to express their experience of the world around them in words.
I have more than 10 years experience with small children. I love my role in Lillekilde, where I daily make use of my big care-gene. I use emphatic communication (Girafsprog) and conflict handling which is a natural part of my normal day and it inspires confidence. I love go exploring with the small ones, everything from being creative to going on tours – and I am always ready to give a hug.
I am a big child playing all day long. You see me on the children’s own terms because this is where I belong – with fun and laughter and my foolish Italian accent. I am a specialist in tucking in and ensuring that Lillekilde’s children get the sleep they need. Even though you are 3 years old you are allowed to sleep if you want to! Then you are ready to play and grow – fresh and rested.
Villa verden is Lillekillde’s re-cycle workshop and it is my workplace. I love recycling, upcycling and creativity. You would often find me with a flock of kids in our trash-warrior costumes, cleaning our neighbourhood. Together, we experiment, experience and create our little world of trash and industrial waste. We work to ‘trash the idea of trash’ for a sustainable future.
I am of the belief that all children have certain innate abilities that just needs encouragement and support for them to be achieved. It is my goal to do so. I love children and am happy when I can help, guide and support them with love, compassion, participation, play and most of all to laugh with them.
I moved her from China with my husband 15 years ago. I have an education in Economics from China, but i have always wished to work with children. I love to participate in children’s games and include them in the activities that i enjoy such as baking and cooking.
I love children and the way they express themselves. When they smile to me or hug me (which they do quite often), it warms my heart. People see me as a caring person who is always ready to help and encourage children towards their goal.
I come a couple of times a week to handle the fee receipt, salary payment etc. I also ensure that accounting books are kept in order in cooperation with Info Revision. And of course, give a helping hand in the class-room when it is required or just to have some fun time with the children.
